In particular, my favorite store is Toraya. Therefore, I’ll focus on one particular store. Today, I’ll explain Toraya in three aspects. First, I’ll mention its products. Second, how eco-friendly store it is. Finally, I’ll show its outstanding point. Of course, Toraya’s products are sweets. However, there’re a lot of kinds of sweets, but it divides into two types. First, regular sweets, such as Yokan, which is sweet bean jelly, called Yorunoume which means Japanese white apricot in night. Second, limited time sweets, for example Sasakuri means young chestnut. Next, I’ll show you eco-friendly. Toraya held an exhibition toward prevention of global warming. The exhibition aimed at reducing plastic bag, and it showed that Japanese style eco-friendly shopping bag, Furoshiki in Japanese language. Furoshiki is not only eco-friendly but elegant, practical and sophisticated, so use of it by a bag covering Wagashi, it’s very suited to souvenir. Finally, I’ll explain how outstanding points have Toraya. Generally, Wagashi industry values work-based learning, so it’s difficult to keep up with the rapidly changing world. However, Toraya opened a store in Paris, France in 1980. It seems to be easy, but it’s really rare case in the industry. Anyway, Toraya is unconventional store. Therefore, I recommend it.
